David Kim (Piano & Music Theory)

David-Kim-pianoDavid Kim received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University; graduate degrees from New England Conservatory and Cleveland Institute of Music; and the Doctorate of Musical Arts from SUNY Stony Brook. He has appeared as soloist with the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge (CO), the Utica and Syracuse Symphony Orchestras, the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra, and Clafin Hill Symphony.  Recent solo concerts include performances at Steinway Hall and Tenri Institute in New York, and at Jordan Hall, Sanders Theater and Fogg Arts Museum in Boston.

Mr. Kim has been featured in live and recorded broadcasts on Vermont Public Radio, WCNY, WHRB, and WGBH Boston. As a choral composer, he was a winner and “Audience Favorite” of the New Music for New York Commission Competition.

Devoted to the art of teaching, Mr. Kim has taught piano and music theory at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, Franklin School for the Performing Arts (Franklin, MA), Boston Arts Academy, SUNY Stonybrook, and in the HARMONY outreach program for children in the Cambridge (MA) public schools.
