Sam Bae (Cello)

Sam BaeCellist Sam Bae’s advancement in technique and artistry has earned him grand prizes at numerous competitions such as the 2007 Southern California Youth Music Festival (SYMF), 2007 SMC Music Competition, 2007 South Coast Symphony’s “Young Stars of the Future” Competition, and the 2009 American String Teachers Association (ASTA) Greater Los Angeles Final Competition.

Along with earning top prizes at numerous competitions, Mr. Bae has been selected to participate in a number of master classes conducted by world—famous musicians such as Midori Goto, Ivry Gitlis, and Lynn Harrell. He has also appeared as a soloist with the USC Alumni under the Amici Music Foundation and the South Coast Symphony.

As a profound supporter of outreach, Mr. Bae has participated in the Gluck Fellowship Program at The Juilliard School; he has performed extensively for patients and children in numerous hospitals and care centers in New York City. He, also, has dedicated his efforts in providing musical training for students with disabilities and other special needs.

Mr. Bae has received the degrees of Bachelor and Master of Music from The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Darrett Adkins. Mr. Bae was the recipient of The Juilliard Alumni Scholarship and the M. & E. Cohen Scholarship.
